Tamil Nadu Accident: 5 Killed as Government Bus Collides Head-On With Car on Karur-Trichy Bypass (Watch Video)

Four members of a family and the driver of a car were crushed to death on the spot when a government bus travelling from Aranthangi to Tirupur collided head-on with a car on the Karur-Trichy bypass near Kulithalai in Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Wednesday, February 26.

The accident took place when they were on their way to Agniveeranar temple in Keelaiyur in Orathanadu. The occupants of the car are from Kuniyamuthur in Coimbatore. Five people, including two women and three men, were killed in the accident. The bodies of five people trapped under the wreckage of the car were recovered by the Musiri Fire Department after an hour's struggle.

The deceased have been identified as Selvaraj, his wife Kalaiyarasi, daughter Ahalya and son Arun. Police are investigating the incident and managing traffic disruptions.
