Members of the right-wing outfit Bajrang Dal took out a protest march on Friday, February 14, warning couples to register their protest against Valentine’s Day celebrations and driving away couples sitting inside the park. In a video that went viral on social media platforms, Hindutva activists armed with sticks can be seen shouting slogans.

A video said to be from Bihar's Patna, in which activists can be heard saying 'Jahan dikhenge babu sona; tod denge kona kona' warning couples on Valentine’s Day. Members entered the garden to register their protest against Valentine’s Day, which they claimed, reflected “western culture”.

Bajrang Dal Activists Protest on Valentine’s Day

Hindu organisations have demanded the cancellation of permissions for Valentine's Day events in hotels and restaurants. Former Hindu Jagran Manch metropolitan president, Sachin Sirohi, submitted a memorandum to the administration, alleging that Valentine's Day is being used as an international conspiracy to distance the younger generation from Hindu culture.

Sirohi pointed out that large banners promoting Valentine's Day events on February 14 and 15 have been displayed across the city, particularly by a major restaurant. He urged the administration to revoke any permissions granted for such events, warning that Hindu organizations would oppose them.

Meanwhile, SP Rural Rakesh Kumar Mishra assured that no one would be allowed to break the law. He stated that legal action would be taken against violators, and women police personnel have been deployed in parks to prevent any untoward incidents on Valentine's Day.
