A massive fire broke out today, February 2, 2026, at Anusaya Surgical Company, located in Vibrant Business Park near NH-48 in Vapi, Gujarat. Eyewitnesses reported that the flames were intense and visible from up to a kilometre away, underlining the scale of the incident. Firefighting teams rushed to the site and began operations promptly to contain the blaze. Two people were injured, IANS reported, and were receiving medical attention. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Authorities have yet to provide further details on the extent of damage, additional casualties, or whether the fire has been fully controlled.

In a similar incident reported a week ago, a severe fire incident occurred at a Flipkart warehouse near the Swaminarayan Temple in Ahmedabad’s Chandkheda area on January 22, causing widespread concern among residents and authorities. The fire erupted suddenly and intensified quickly due to the presence of combustible materials such as electronic goods and packaging. Thick black smoke filled the sky, creating panic in the surrounding neighbourhood and prompting immediate evacuation measures near the temple premises. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported.

Multiple fire engines from the Ahmedabad Fire Brigade were rushed to the scene, and firefighters battled the blaze for several hours. Their efforts focused on containing the fire within the warehouse and preventing it from spreading to nearby religious and residential structures. Foam and high-pressure water jets were used extensively, and operations continued late into the night.

The warehouse, which serves as a key logistics and micro-fulfilment centre for Flipkart in the region, is believed to have suffered extensive damage, with financial losses estimated in crores. Traffic in the Chandkheda area was diverted to facilitate emergency response, while police secured the site to ensure public safety.

Flipkart released an official statement confirming that all its personnel were safe and that the fire had originated elsewhere in the commercial complex before spreading to its facility. The company stated that it operates in compliance with fire safety regulations and is cooperating with local authorities. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire.
