Minor Fire at Kids’ Play Zone in Kharghar; No Injuries Reported

A minor fire broke out at Bouncing Bunny, a popular indoor play zone in Kharghar, on Saturday evening, triggering brief panic among visitors. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported as the premises were evacuated promptly.

The incident was reported around 7:15 pm, prompting an immediate response from firefighters. Since the facility frequently hosts children and families, emergency services treated the situation with urgency.

Fire personnel from the City and Industrial Development Corporation fire station in Kharghar reached the spot within 10 minutes of receiving the alert. Three fire tenders were deployed to contain the blaze.

Officials said it took nearly two hours to fully extinguish the fire, after which cooling operations were carried out to prevent any flare-ups.  The play zone was evacuated quickly by staff members and first responders, ensuring that all children and visitors were moved to safety.

According to Pravin Bodake, deputy chief fire officer with CIDCO in Kharghar, the situation was brought under control before it could worsen. It was a minor fire. As soon as smoke was detected, all the children and patrons inside the play zone were safely evacuated. Our teams managed to contain the fire within two hours,” Bodake said.

The indoor play centre, located near the ISKCON Temple Kharghar, is well known among families in the area.While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, preliminary findings suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the incident.
