Navi Mumbai: The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has achieved a record-breaking Rs 400 crore in property tax collection this financial year, marking its highest-ever revenue since its establishment in 2016. With just two days remaining before the March 31 deadline, the civic administration is urging property owners to clear their dues immediately to avoid penalties.

To recover property taxes from defaulters, the PMC has issued 447 pre-seizure notices and 27 warrant notices across various nodes. Additionally, 144 properties have already been seized, intensifying pressure on tax evaders. The recovery drive is being led by Deputy Commissioner Swarup Kharge and Tax Superintendents Mahesh Gaikwad and Sunil Bhoir, under the direction of Commissioner Mangesh Chitale.

To facilitate last-minute payments, PMC has announced that its offices will remain open on Sunday and Monday, despite being holidays. The Civic Chief has instructed officials to maximize recoveries before March 31, as delayed payments will attract a 2% penalty in the next financial year.

For greater convenience, property owners can make payments online via the "PMC TAX APP" or the official website www.panvelmc.org. Those needing assistance can contact the toll-free helpline at 1800-5320-340.

With the deadline fast approaching, PMC urges all property owners to clear their dues promptly and avoid penalties.
