Osijek (Croatia), June 1 Olympic bound Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat finished first and second, respectively, in the minimum qualification score (MQS) category of the women's 25-metre pistol event at the European Championships here on Tuesday.

Manu shot 587, the fourth-best overall score among regulars and MQS combined, while Rahi's 584 matched the sixth-best regulars score of the day.

Both Manu and Rahi had shot 291 during the precision round on Monday to be positioned eighth overall. On Tuesday, Manu shot two perfect 100s in the rapid fire round to tally 296/300, the second best overall round of the day.

Rahi had two 99s and a 95 for a 293, which helped her gain two spots from the previous day, in the overall rankings.

Only the top eight regulars made it to the final of the event, which was won by Mathilde Lamolle of France.

The competitive field included reigning Olympic and world champion Anna Korakaki, who scored 581, but missed the finals. However, former Olympic champion Olena Kostevych of Ukraine and 2016 Olympics silver medallist Vitalina Batsarashkina as well as Hungarian ace Veronika Major made it to the finals.

In the MQS rounds, athletes register official scores but do not compete for medals.
