Nitesh Tiwari is all set to direct a new version of the Ramayan to be produced by Madhu Mantena, the three-film trilogy on the Ramayan will be made at a whopping cost of Rs 750 crores.

According to a source in the know, both Hrithik and Ranbir who will play Ravana and Rama respectively will be paid Rs 75 crores each.

In the past, many filmmakers have tried their hands on to create their own versions of the epic saga but none has come close to Ramanand Sagar’s original DD national show but the Dangal director might be giving his audience an experience of a lifetime.

Although Nitesh Tiwari and his team is still searching a perfect actress to play Sita opposite Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram – Raavan, the source further debunks the rumours about Kareena Kapoor Khan’s involvement in the film, saying, “They were planted by her marketing team. Kareena, for all her talent, doesn’t suit the part at all.”

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor recently had their first official meeting with Nitesh Tiwari and producer Madhu Mantena where they discussed the massive project and even the tentative plans of taking it on floors sometime in the second half of next year.

Nitesh is set to direct the trilogy, which will be shot in 3D. The live-action films, produced by Madhu Mantena, will be made in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

"Ramayana is magical. It is something that we have not seen from an Indian maker. It has got a lot of magical qualities to it and the kind of forest we had, you had animals talking to us, this was something which is wonderful and it allows you to have the potential to present beautifully on screen a world that you have not seen before. It is a prep heavy film. It is very tough but gratifying if you can get it right, as you have the technology to do it," Nitesh told PTI.

r Kareena Kapoor made headlines when unconfirmed reports said that she'd hiked her fee for an upcoming reimagining of the Ramayana from Sita's perspective. The actor was said to have asked for ₹12 crore for the large-scale film, which would require a longer time commitment from her.

However, Kareena’s husband Saif Ali Khan is playing the character of Lankesh opposite Prabhas’ Ram in Om Raut’s version of Ramayan, titled ‘Adipurush’ and recently the team wrapped up the shoot for the same.
