Aadhar Card Update: Beware! Update 'POI', 'POA' of Aadhaar Card, otherwise there will be big loss

Proof of Identity (PoI) are generally documents that have your photo, for example, Passport, Ration Card or PDS Photo Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, NREGS Job Card, Government Photo ID Cards or PSU Issued Service Photo Identity Card, Arms License, Photo ID Issued by a Recognized Educational Institution.

Aadhaar card can be updated both online and offline. 25 for online, and 50 for offline. There is a fee.

POI stands for Proof of Identity. You have to submit your identity proof. POA stands for Proof of Address. Address proofs have to be provided.

According to the notification issued by the Aadhaar Authority on 1st July 2022, photo documents are required for proof of identity i.e. POI. It includes PAN Card, E-PAN, Ration Card, Election Identity Card, Driving License, Arm Licence, Photo Bank ATM Card.

POA i.e Proof of Address requires a document containing name and address. These include Passport, Bank Statement, Ration Card, Election Identity Card, Driving License, Pensioner Card, Kisan Passbook, Disability Card, MGNREGA Card, Valid School ID Card, School Leaving Certificate.

All information in Aadhaar card can be updated. Change in name, gender, date of birth, address, language is possible online. Mobile number should be registered for that. The fee for this is Rs. Photo and mobile number can be updated offline. 50 for the fee.

Name can be changed twice in Aadhaar card. You can change date of birth only once. Even in that only three years difference will be considered.

Gender change is also possible only once. If you want to make a change even after exceeding this limit, visit the Divisional Office of UIDAI with proof.
