Assam logs 800 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths

With 800 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Assam, the total number of people infected so far rise to 7,34,012 on Saturday. This information was obtained from the bulletin of the health department.

The death toll from the epidemic rose to 6,665 as two more people succumbed to infection. Buxa district reported the highest number of new cases at 60, followed by Golpara (50) and Darang (47).

There are now 5,508 patients under treatment in the state, while 7,20,492 people have recovered from the disease, including 615 people who have recovered in the last 24 hours.

The recovery rate is 98.16 percent. The infection rate came down marginally to 10.10 percent from the previous day's 10.83 percent.

At the same time, 7,922 samples were tested. The administration has so far tested more than 2.8 crore samples for Kovid-19 and 2.16 crore people have been fully vaccinated.
