Coronavirus: Production of antibodies in 70% of people in the country, says ICMR report

According to the results of the 4th sero survey conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), antibodies have been produced in 70 per cent of the people in the country.

The highest prevalence of mass antibodies is 79 per cent in Madhya Pradesh and 59 per cent in Maharashtra. Kerala has the lowest rate at 44.4 per cent. The survey was conducted in 21 states.

Now, states should conduct district-wise sero prevalence surveys, the ICMR said. Collective immunity is 76.2 in Rajasthan, 75.9 in Bihar, 75.3 in Gujarat, 74.6 in Chhattisgarh and 73.1 in Uttarakhand.

71 in Uttar Pradesh, 70.2 in Andhra Pradesh, 69.8 in Karnataka, 69.2 in Tamil Nadu, 68.1 in Odisha, 66.5 in Punjab, 63.1 in Telangana, 63 in Jammu and Kashmir, 62 in Himachal Pradesh, 61 in Jharkhand and 61 in West Bengal. 60.9 per cent in Haryana, 60.1 per cent in Assam and 50.3 per cent in Assam.

The lowest sero prevalence was found in Kerala. There is less collective immunity than in other states. Half of the new patients found every day are from Kerala.

Vaccination rates in Kerala are even higher than the national average. However, as Kerala lags behind the rest of the country in terms of collective immunity, it needs more vaccines.

In the United States, more than one million new infections are detected in a single day. There are 35.3 million corona cases in the United States, of which 29.5 million have been cured. 6 lakh 27 thousand people have lost their lives due to this infection. 51 lakh people are undergoing treatment.
