Success story of a farmer's son who developed the first COVID-19 vaccine in India

Scientists from across the globe are trying their best to find a vaccine for coronavirus. Similarly, India is also conducting human trials to find a cure from the deadly virus.

Each country is trying at its own level and in India the son of an Indian farmer is also trying to make a coronavirus vaccine his name is Dr. Krishna Ella.

After working hard day and night, Dr. Krishna opened a small lab. In which he worked tirelessly to transform into a large company. Now they are claiming to make a vaccine to fight coronavirus.

The vaccine is expected to be launched on August 15. Its human clinical trial has also been approved by the Central Government. In India, the vaccine is being manufactured by Bharat Bharat Biotech Company in Hyderabad.

Later, a laboratory called Bharat Biotech was set up in Hyderabad and they started working. Dr. Krishna has been honored with more than 100 national and international awards. In 2011 and 2008, he was awarded the Best Technician by the Prime Minister.

The company is working on the vaccine in collaboration with the National Institute of Virology and the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Earlier, the company had developed the world's cheapest hepatitis vaccine. It was the first company to invent the world's first vaccine against the Zika virus.

Krishna Ella was born in Tamil Nadu and hails from a middle class farming family. He was the first person in his entire family to enter the world of biotechnology through agriculture.

He first studied agriculture and initially the plan was to farm but here was financial pressure so he took a fellowship at Bayer, a chemical and pharmaceutical company. Later he received a scholarship for a Hunger Fellowship and went to the United States.

After that, Dr. Krishna did his postgraduate studies from the University of Hawaii. PhD from Madison University, Wisconsin. He was considering settling in the United States but, his mother wanted him to come to India.
