UPI scam alert: Avoid making these mistakes while making online payment

New Delhi: The trend of digital payment is increasing in India. Unified Payment Interface i.e. UPI has emerged as the most used digital payment mode in recent years. Along with the popularity of UPI, fraud is also on the rise.

Most UPI apps have a spam filter, which tracks payment requests to specific UPI IDs. These filters can track payment requests from spam IDs. The UPI app gives a warning when such requests are received.

Ways to avoid fraud on UPI. 1. Beware of unknown mobile numbers and users. 2. Do not share or tell UPI PIN to anyone for greed of getting money through UPI. 3. Do not accept unknown payment requests. 4. Beware of fake UPI apps. 5. Your 4 or 6 digit UPI PIN is never unknown.

Meanwhile, UPI is a real time payment system, which allows instant transfer of money from one bank account to another. Specially, through UPI you can transfer money anytime day or night.

With UPI you can link one bank account with multiple UPI apps. Also, multiple bank accounts can be operated through one UPI app. Specially, even if you have only one information like scanner, mobile number, UPI ID, UPI gives you the facility of money transfer.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recently launched a new version of UPI, UPI 123Pay, to bring thousands of feature phone users into the digital payment system.

Rupay Credit Card on UPI has been launched recently. Currently you can link RuPay credit card of some banks on BHIM app.
