Pune Crime: College Student Critically Injured in Brutal Axe Attack in Wagholi

Pune has witnessed a shocking surge in violent incidents among college students, and the latest episode has left the Wagholi area in terror. On March 12, a college student, Nagesh Sunil Jagtap, was brutally attacked with an axe while having tea with a friend near the Akhand Amrutthulya Hotel, opposite Raisoni College gate. One of the blows was so severe that the axe became embedded in his head. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors performed life-saving efforts to remove the weapon and stabilize him.

The attack reportedly stemmed from a verbal dispute between Nagesh and two youths, Mangesh Sangle and Pawan Rathod, who confronted him over a minor disagreement. The assailants began hitting him with the axe, causing severe injuries. Shockingly, the entire attack was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, showing the attackers’ violent actions. Locals quickly intervened, helping to get Nagesh to the hospital. Police have confirmed that both accused have been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing to uncover the full motive and identify any other accomplices involved in the brutal assault.
