Pune Horror: Family Attacked by Masked Men at Midnight in Yavat, One Dead, Three Injured
A violent midnight attack at a house near Neelkantheshwar Temple on Yavat Station Road left one person dead and three others seriously injured. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday when three masked assailants stormed the home of Shashikant Chavan and brutally assaulted the family.
Avinash, also known as Vishwajeet Shashikant Chavan, died in the attack. Shashikant Chavan, Prachi Yadav, and Ujwala Chavan suffered severe injuries.
Assailants Flee After Brutal Assault
The attackers first ambushed Avinash Chavan outside the house. They then forced their way inside and assaulted other family members. Avinash’s wife, Sarika Chavan, managed to escape by locking herself and her three-year-old child in the bathroom. She immediately called for help.
Neighbors Arun Mulik and Santosh Mulik rushed to the scene, causing the assailants to flee. Deepak Mulik, Laxman Mulik, Pranav Mulik, and Kumar Mulik attempted to chase them, but the attackers managed to escape.
Police Launch Investigation
Daund Sub-Divisional Police Officer Bapurao Dads and Inspector Narayan Deshmukh arrived at the scene with a police team. Authorities have deployed a dog squad to assist in the investigation. Police are working to determine whether the attack was a robbery or part of a larger conspiracy.
The incident has left residents of the Yavat area in shock and fear.
