Pune News: Young Man Electrocuted While Starting Electric Pump in Manchar
Pune: In an tragic turn of events a young man who had gone to the Ghod River to start a water pump died after coming into contact with a live wire of an electricity pole. The deceased has been identified as Chandrakant Maruti Pingle (age 34). The incident occurred at 11 AM on the banks of the Ghod River near Shri Kshetra Vadgaon Kashimbeg.
Chandrakant Pingle, who worked at Shri Kulswami Patasanstha, also cultivated his family's farm. Water was supplied to the fields in Pingle Mala from the Ghod River using an electric pump. Since it was Sunday, he went to the riverbank at 10:30 AM to start the pump. Vilas Borade and other farmers were also present there at the time. While starting the pump, he went towards the riverbank and was electrocuted by a live wire of an electricity pole. The shock threw him into the water of the Kolhapur-type weir on the Ghod River.
Hearing the commotion, the nearby farmers rushed to the spot. They saw Chandrakant Pingle in the water. They immediately contacted for help via phone. Police Patil Nikhil Taru, Shriram Doke, Vaibhav Chavan, Sharad Lokhande, Kishore Teke, Sanjay Kale, Mahesh Doke, Balasaheb Shinde, and others immediately pulled Chandrakant Pingle out of the water. He was taken to the Manchar Sub-District Hospital in an ambulance for treatment.

However, doctors declared him dead before treatment could be administered. He is survived by his mother, wife, and an eight-year-old son. Santosh Baban Pingle informed the Manchar police about the incident. The Manchar police are investigating the matter.
