The victim, identified as Mahesh Bansude, sustained serious injuries in this incident, following which a case has been registered at the Indapur police station.

JCB owner Sharad Kale, already present at the scene, argued with Mahesh Bansude and made derogatory remarks. Later, around 11:20 PM, Kale lured Bansude outside his house under the pretense of a discussion. Once outside, Kale verbally and physically assaulted Bansude, kicking and punching him before striking him behind the ear with an iron sickle, intending to kill him.
