Pune: A celebration turn into a chaos in Yerwada after a gang of armed individuals barged into a Mehndi ceremony and snatched a gold chain worth Rs 5 lakh from a guest, leaving attendees in shock. In connection with this case, the Laxminagar police have registered a case of robbery against five individuals and have subsequently arrested them.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Santosh Kachi and Yash Kachi , Datta Raghunath Chavan, Sushil Suryakant Gaud, and Yash Deepak Sawant. Nandu Arjun Kachi lodged the complaint regarding this incident at the Laxminagar Police Station. The Mehndi ceremony was underway at the residence of Sunita Kachi in the Sangamwadi area of Yerwada around 10:00 PM on April 27.

The accused and the complainant were known to one another. During the event, the accused verbally abused the complainant, threatened him with a weapon, and snatched the gold chain valued at ₹5 lakh from around his neck. After physically assaulting him, the accused fled the scene. The terrified Kachi subsequently filed a complaint with the police. The police registered the case and apprehended the absconding accused. Assistant Police Inspector Mithun Sawant is conducting further investigations into the matter.
