Virat Kohli Fans Target Actor Arshad Warsi on Instagram After Gujarat Titans’ Pacer Dismisses Him During RCB vs GT IPL 2025 Match
Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi found himself at the center of an unexpected social media storm after Gujarat Titans pacer Arshad Khan dismissed Virat Kohli during the IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Fans of the former RCB captain flooded Warsi’s Instagram posts with comments blaming him for Kohli’s dismissal. Many wrote “Kohli out kiya” on his recent posts, mistakenly targeting him due to the shared first name with the Gujarat Titans bowler. The online attack came after Arshad Khan removed Kohli in the second over of the match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Kohli, who was looking to improve on his previous knock, attempted to pull a short delivery but mistimed the shot, leading to an easy catch for Prasidh Krishna. Warsi has not responded to the social media backlash. However, fans continue to flood his posts with comments.

This is not the first time social media outrage has been misdirected after Kohli’s dismissal. Earlier, during the Ranji Trophy, a similar incident occurred when Virat Kohli’s much-anticipated return to domestic cricket after 12 years didn't go as planned. Kohli managed just six runs for Delhi against Railways in the first innings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. After Kohli's early dismissal, social media lashed out at Sangwan. Since the Railways pacer’s Instagram was private, angry fans mistakenly targeted someone else with the same name. The confusion did not end there. Delhi pacer Pradeep Sangwan, who shares the same surname as Himanshu, also became a target of online abuse.
Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to field first. Explaining the decision, Gill said they aim to minimize mistakes and fine-tune their game. “Looks like a good wicket. We've seen the conditions don't change much. We're all about reducing our unforced errors. We'll try to fine-tune the areas that need it. Kagiso misses out due to personal reasons so we've got Arshad Khan back,” Gill said.
RCB skipper Rajat Patidar confirmed an unchanged lineup following back-to-back victories against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. "Would've bowled first as well because it's a new surface. It's pretty hard and won't change much. The way boys are chipping in gives a lot of confidence as a captain. We love this crowd. The way they love us and the support we've always received is incredible. Same team, he said.
