Mumbai, April 27 Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday launched the 'MahaChatur Artificial Intelligence chatbot', which aims to streamline the journey from education to employment, providing a unified platform for skill development, job opportunities, and entrepreneurial guidance.

Speaking at the launch, CM Fadnavis highlighted India’s "demographic advantage", noting that 65 per cent of the population is under 35. He stated that industries are looking for skilled manpower, and youth are looking for jobs, and that the 'MahaChatur chatbot' will serve as a vital bridge between the two.

He added that the Artificial Intelligence-driven assistant, available via WhatsApp, offers a "one-stop solution" for skill training information and application processes, employment opportunity alerts, entrepreneurship guidance, market linkages, assessments, and grievance redressal.

According to Fadnavis, a major highlight of the platform is its impact on the apprenticeship registration process. Under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme and the Maharashtra Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, registration that previously took two to three days can now be completed in just 15 minutes.

He said that, developed in partnership with the 'RightWalk Foundation', the system operates on secure government servers using open-source Artificial Intelligence to ensure maximum data privacy for users in both rural and urban areas.

Minister for Skills and Entrepreneurship, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, emphasised the department’s resolve to organise the unorganised skill sector.

He remarked that while Artificial Intelligence may impact some traditional jobs, it creates a massive window of new opportunities, and that efforts are underway to connect Maharashtra's youth with the global labour market.

Meanwhile, the government signed memorandums of understanding with UN Women (focusing on skill training for women), IPE Global Limited, National Skill Training Institute, Srimad Rajchandra Educational Trust, and Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust. These collaborations aim to expand skill initiatives to diverse groups, including women and prison inmates, while strengthening data security and industry-led training, said the government release.
