Instagram Down: Meta-Owned Photo and Video Sharing Platform Faces Outage; Users Unable to Send DMs
Instagram, a Meta-owned short video and photo sharing application, reported an outage on Wednesday morning, March 11, as some users reported that they were unable to send direct messages (DM) on the mobile application. According to the outage tracking website Downdetector.com, over 11,000 complaints were reported worldwide at 9.01 am, while in India, a spike was seen at 8.55 am with over 200 users reported, with 77% people facing issues with the app.
Users moved to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the outage, where some complained about Instagram messages and could not send a direct message to a person. As per Downdetector, most people face issues in accessing the Instagram App, while some reported problems loading feeds and server issues.
