Aurangabad, April 26:It appears that people’s representatives have been discussing the same issues with the district administrations in weekly meeting for the past 10 months.It may be noted that the weekly meeting between public representatives and the district administrations is held on every Monday over measures to bring COVID situation under control.The representatives drew the attention of the administration to today’s meeting held at the district collector office about heavy bills being charge by hospitals for COVID patients, unavailability of doctors, increasing oxygen, injection and ventilator beds facility. The administration, too has been given similar replies. The administration today informed the representatives that an audit of hospitals to be done through auditors for charging heavy bills, the hospitals were instructed to refund extra charges levied and oxygen stock was made available.District collector Sunil Chavan, MPs Dr Bhagwat Karad, Imtiaz Jaleel, Zilla Parishad president Meena Shelke, MLCs Ambadas Danve, MLAs Sanjay Shirsath, Atul Save, Ramesh Boranare, Udaysingh Rajput, Pradeep Jaiswal, Haribhua Bagade, Aurangabad Municipal Corporation administrator Astik Kumar Pandey, superintendent of police Mokshada Patil, additional district collector Dr Anant Gavhane, Government Medical College and Hospital dean Dr Kanan Yelikar, district civil surgeon Dr Sundar Kulkarni, Dr Neeta Padalkar and Dr Sudhakar Shelke were present for the meeting.Sunil Chavan claimed that there are 349 ambulances in the district.“Thee are 20,572 beds are available. Of them, 2,508 are equipped with an oxygen facility. We have 760 ICU beds. The death ratio is 1.57. More ventilators were made available through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund,” he added.Astik Kumar Pandey said that the oxygen facility was enhanced in Meltron Hospital and had sufficient treatment facilities.The representatives gave some suggestions, including private doctors should seek Remdesivir injection from district collector, action against the doctors for prescribing the said injection, improving oxygen facility, starting COVID Care Cente at Marathwada Auto Cluster and private hospitals should be given the facility of oxygen generation.
