They also agreed to freeze its transactions and prevent the central bank from liquidating its assets.She added there would be a crackdown on so-called "golden passports" that "let wealthy Russians connected to the Russian government become citizens of our countries and gain access to our financial systems"."We commit to ensuring that a certain number of Russian banks are removed from SWIFT. We will paralyze the assets of Russia's central bank. This will freeze its transactions," said the president of the European Commission.SWIFT is the acronym for the Society of Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication. Russia had over 360 licensed banks at the start of the year.
