Mount Maunganui, Jan 2 Bangladesh came up with a solid response to New Zealand's first-innings total of 328 all out, with Mahmudul Hasan Joy (70 not out) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (64) negotiating two tough sessions to guide the tourists to 175 for 2 on Day 2 of the first Test here on Sunday.Mominul Haque's side earlier challenged the hosts in the first session, claiming 5/70 and setting the platform for a strong first innings total.Bangladesh are still 153 runs adrift of New Zealand's 328 but with the pitch easing up a bit they could look to go beyond the Blackcaps' total.After the loss of Tom Blundell at the end of day one, Rachin Ravindra walked out with Henry Nicholls resuming on 32. Mahmudul joined him with a fifty (his first in Test cricket), with the partnership only broken by a smart piece of bowling from Wagner.
