However, their form improved in the Super 8 stage with strong victories against the Sri Lanka national cricket team, the Pakistan national cricket team and the New Zealand national cricket team to become the first team to qualify for the semifinals.At the Wankhede Stadium, England had earlier played two matches with one win and one loss, while India had won their only game at the venue against the United States by 29 runs.The winner of the contest will face New Zealand national cricket team in the final of the tournament.
