Mumbra corporator Sehar Shaikh of the AIMIM party, who recently drew attention over her controversial “Kaise haraya?” remark, is now facing serious allegations that could jeopardize her position. It is claimed that during her election process, four key government departments were misled, raising questions about the validity of her documents. The issue has sparked widespread political debate, while her father, Yunus Shaikh, has strongly denied all accusations. He has also warned that the truth will be revealed within two days. Meanwhile, the controversy continues to intensify, with discussions gaining momentum across political circles and administrative levels.Amid the growing scrutiny, journalists questioned Yunus Shaikh about Sehar Shaikh being unreachable for the past two days. Responding to this, he stated that the family was occupied due to the death of a relative. However, during the same period, Sehar Shaikh was reportedly present at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where she attended a match between Mumbai and Punjab. She even shared a video from the stadium gallery on Instagram with the caption “Game Over,” along with song lyrics hinting at unfolding drama. This raised further questions, and Yunus Shaikh was also asked to clarify her presence at the stadium during such a sensitive time.Reacting to the viral stadium video, Yunus Shaikh dismissed the criticism, stating that there is no restriction on where one can go. He reiterated confidence in the legal and administrative system and announced that a press conference would be held within two days to address all allegations in detail. He maintained that the accusations are baseless and challenged the narrative against his family. Meanwhile, questions have also been raised regarding the legitimacy of the caste certificate submitted during the election. During a hearing held on March 18 by the Thane Tehsildar, Yunus Shaikh was absent citing illness, though his lawyer submitted relevant documents. A subsequent hearing on March 23 highlighted discrepancies in the certificate.Further allegations suggest that despite being residents of Thane, the family obtained a caste certificate from the Mumbai City Collector’s office, raising suspicion about their intent. A complaint filed by Siddiqui Farha Sabaab Ahmed at the Thane Sub-Divisional Officer’s office alleged that Yunus Shaikh misled authorities by using an incorrect application format to secure a fraudulent caste certificate. Originally from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Yunus Shaikh had migrated to Maharashtra and allegedly obtained the certificate under the Other Backward Classes category through improper means. Based on this, Sehar Shaikh acquired her caste certificate and later contested and won the Thane Municipal Corporation election from Ward 30 in Mumbra representing AIMIM.
