1.44 lakh litres of kerosene for district; rural distribution soon

The district has been allotted 1.44 lakh litres of kerosene for March–April as a temporary alternative fuel amid the Gulf war situation. Supply will come from the Loni Kalbhor depot in Pune, and distribution through rural ration shops will begin after transport rates are finalised.
Kerosene distribution was discontinued in 2016. To ensure short-term resumption, the government doubled dealers’ commission from Rs 675 to Rs 1,350 per kilolitre. The Centre has sanctioned 3,744 KL for the state. In the first phase, only rural PHH and AAY card holders will receive 3 litres each.
