More than 1.63 lakh students of different undergraduate and postgraduate courses will take summer 2020 session examinations within the jurisdiction of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) from October 9.

It may be noted the examinations were to be held from October 1.

However, the officers and employees of BAMU started week-long pen-down agitation from September 24 to 30 and they announced to intensify their agitation from October 1 for their different demands including the implementation of recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission.

This forced the university administration to postpone the examinations. The employees called off their agitation in the afternoon of October first after Higher and Technical Education Minister assured them to look into their demands.

Over 1.63 lakh students have registered for the examinations from Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed and Osmanabad districts. The students were given the option to choose an online or offline system. Of them,1.13 lakh will appear online while 50,084 opted for the offline system.

Also, 93,000 candidates among them will use a smartphone, 15,293 laptops and 3,059 computers.

The mock test was made compulsory for those who have opted for an online system.

Students can take the examination from the allotted centre or nearest college or MKCL Training Centre which is near to them.

Besides the final semester, the students of other semesters who have failed or got ATKT will also appear for the examinations.

First time in its history, BAMU is going to give online examinations on such a big level.
