Aurangabad, May 13: Over 2.35 lakh farmers in the district have got the benefit of debt relief scheme from the state government. Only 3,196 farmers have not received this benefit. It will be available soon, said district deputy registrar Anil Kumar Dabshede.

Giving information about loan disbursement, he said that Aurangabad district ranks first in Marathwada in Kharif crop loan disbursement and a total of 114 per cent loan disbursement has been made. The target for loan disbursement of Kharif crop in Aurangabad district for 2020-21 was Rs 1197 crore. In fact, a loan of Rs 1360 crore was disbursed and 2,62,471 farmers benefited from it. While the rabbi loan disbursement target was Rs 299 crore, a loan of Rs 520 crore was disbursed. These loans were distributed to 68,824 farmers. The total target for Kharif and Rabi loan disbursement for 2020-21 was Rs 1496 crore. In fact, Rs 1,880 crore loan was disbursed. And it benefited 3,31,295 farmers, informed the Dabshede. He further said that the target for Kharif crop loan disbursement for 2021-22 is Rs 1293 crore and so far Rs 159 crore has been disbursed to 39,017 farmers. About 70 per cent farmers are yet to get loans.
