Aurangabad, June 22:

A total of nine persons committed suicide in Waluj Mahanagar during the last three weeks for different reasons, including family dispute and depression.

This has come to light during the police probe.

It may be noted that workers who arrived from different parts of the country and got job opportunities in Waluj industrial estate have settled in Waluj Mahanagar.

Workers, along with their wives, work in industries because of their average financial condition.

The financial problems of workers increased during the last one and half years because of Covid crisis. The workers who had gone to their native places in lockdown have started returning. Life is returning to normalcy in the industrial belt.

Many have lost jobs due to some industries were shut down.

Workers are worried about how to run their families until they find a new job. It has resulted in family clashes and depression. A total of nine persons ended their lives in Waluj Mahanagar because of this condition.

Police inspector Madhukar Sawant said that the couple register complaint against each other over a trivial issue.

“We counsel the couple and resolve their conflict to try to turn their relationship healthier,” he added.

The names of those who committed suicide are as follows; Devidas Nathaji Pradhan (Jogeshwari), Vishnu Tukaram Taur (Bajanagar), Girjanath Laxman Bhonde (Waluj), Anil Dadarao Tangade (Bajajnagar), Shaikh Sania Sattar (Jogeshwari), Anil Geetaram Kadam (Bajajnagar), Roja Manoj Patil (Ranjangaon), Papita Rahul Wankhede (Waluj) and Vilas Asaram Thorat (Nandeda Shivar).
