Aurangabad, Oct 15:

An incident of branding a nine-year-old boy with a hot object on his face by his uncle took place in Kanchanwadi on Tuesday night.

Boy’s uncle Santosh Damodhar Raut (40, Kanchanwadi) kept the boy indoor with injuries. The incident came to light when Santosh Raut and his wife went on work on Thursday.

According to details, the father of the boy died in an accident sixth month after his birth (2012). His mother married another man and left the boy with his paternal uncle Santosh and his wife Kavita, who have one son and one daughter.

Money was stolen from the home frequently, and the couple doubted the minor boy every time.

His uncle beat the boy up on suspicion of stealing Rs 50.

The minor boy informed his uncle that he had not stolen money. Cruel Santosh did not listen to his requests and branded the boy on his face with a hot object.

The boy was crying in pain on Tuesday night and Wednesday but, door of the house was shut down so that no one can hear his cries. He was not taken to the hospital.

Neighbour learnt this after Santosh and Kavit went on work on Thursday.

The neighbour brought ointment from a Chemist and Druggist shop and applied on his injuries. He did video shooting of the boy’s injuries by mobile phone and sent it to media persons.

On receiving information, Police Inspector of Satara Police Station Surendra Malale, PSI Vikram Wadne, Maroti Dase and employees reached Kanchanwadi and brought the boy to the police station.

Police freed the boy and arrested the accused. The process of registering a case in Satara Police Station against the accused was underway.
