Aurangabad, Jan 8:

The prestigious 94th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, an all-India Marathi literary meet would be held in Nashik. The decision was taken in a meeting held at Marathwada Sahitya Parishad (MSP) on Friday, by the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Mahamandal president Kautikrao Thale Patil. The panel formally sealed the proposal from Nashik''s Lokhitwadi Mandal. The literary convention will be held at Gokhale Education Society.

Thale Patil said that various organisations including Sarhad Sanstha had come forward with a request to organise the Sammelan in May. But the financial year of the Mahamandal is from April 1 to March 31. Each year''s grant should be used in the same year. This was also a reason for rejecting the proposals. Apart from this, Delhi is not a safe place to host a literary convention due to corona. Therefore, the Mahamandal was not keen to convene the event in Delhi, said Thale Patil. Working president Dr Dada Gore, Dr Ramchandra Kalunkhe, Prof Pratibha Saraf, Pradip Date, Prakash Paygude and committee members were present.

Sammelan president to be decided on Jan 24

A meeting of the Mahamandal committee will be held on January 23 in Nashik to discuss the organization of the event. Also, a meeting will be held in Nashik on January 24, in which the decision regarding the Sammelan president will be announced.
