Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The divisional administration is in active mode after Manoj Jarange’s warning to launch a hunger strike on October 25 for the reservation demand of the Maratha community.
A video conferencing of district colleges was held on Monday to obtain information on district, city and village levels about the benefits of Government projects and schemes implemented for the community since 2018.
Divisional Commissioner Madhukarraje Ardad and all district collectors of Marathwada participated in the meeting. The Secretary of the Social Justice Department gave instructions to the officers through video conferencing.
The Shinde Committee which was appointed for the Maratha reservation is already working on it. Citizens are giving evidence available to them. Agitations are being held in the different parts of the state for the reservation demand.
The information about the schemes will be provided to grassroots-level persons about what the Government has for the community in the backdrop of the agitation.
The district administration was entrusted with the responsibility to spread this information in their respective areas.
Around 70,000 youths have benefitted from Annasaheb Arthik Vikas Mahamandl so far. The government has been giving fellowships for research, acquiring skills and computer training since 2018 through the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Institute of Research, Training and Human Development (SARTHI). Around 25,000 boys and girls have benefited from it so far.
The district administration was instructed to obtain data of beneficiaries of different schemes and spread it.
The officers were also asked to seek data through the survey of the prominent agencies about the needs of the community and what the Government should do for them. They will also have to analyse the data. The instructions were also issued to focus on enhancing entrepreneurship among youths. In the meeting, it was also informed that hostels will be started for boys and girls.
