Admissions on 4,781 seats under RTE to be filled in district

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Education Department will admit students on 4,781 seats in primary schools of the district under the Right to Education Department (RTE) for the academic year 2026-27.

It may be noted that 25 per cent seats are reserved in private English medium schools for the economically and socially weaker section of society under the RTE Act.

A total of 4,781 seats in 538 schools of the district will be filled for the next academic year through the free admission process. School registration and admission capacity were determined.

Although there is an increase of 373 seats compared to last year, the number of schools has decreased. The number of schools, which was 562 last time, has come down to 538.

The schedule for the admission process for the year 2026-2027 has not yet been released. The education department has stopped the school registration process; it is being completed, according to officials of the education department. However, parents are now focused on student registration.

Education Officer Jayshree Chavan said that the school registration process was completed. “As soon as further orders are received and the schedule is released, student registration will begin. No school has been excluded from RTE this year,” she said.
