Agitating students breaking lock of study room arrested

Aurangabad, Oct 23:

The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Students Federation of India (SFI) staged severe agitation by shouting slogans at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University demanding to open study rooms, library and research students’ hostel. Meanwhile, the police arrested the Parishad agitators, trying to break the study room''s lock and the SFI activists for staging demonstrations without taking prior permission.

The students of the Parishad demonstrated in front of the reading hall near the library. They mentioned that the state government has gradually stated all the activities in the state. A memorandum has been submitted to the government to start the government study halls, but no decision has been taken in this regard yet. Many students are studying in the private study halls by paying fees. The research students will be benefitted if the study hall in the university is started, they demanded.

At the same time, SFI agitators gathered at the administrative building to submit a memorandum to the vice chancellor Dr Pramod Yeolee demanding to start the library, study hall, and research students'' hotel.

Begumpura police station, PI, Sanap and his team tried to discard them but the agitators sat on the steps of the building. The police arrested the agitating students including Lokesh Kamble, Samadhan Bargal, Amol Kharat, Diksha Pawar, Saroj Khandare, Suresh Sanap, Nitin Kamble and others.

Meanwhile, the Parishad agitators tried to break the lock of the study hall with a hammer. The guards informed about it to the police. The police rushed to the spot, seized the hammer and arrested the officials Shamsundar Sodgir, Nagesh Galande, Ambadas Mevhankar, Rishikesh Kekant, Abhay Lande, Subhash Bokhade, Ram Kanke, Mahesh Kale and others.
