AMC to install metallic grills at 30 places to

The administrator of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Astik Kumar Pandey today inspected the works to install a metallic grill upon a nullah near Jaffar Gate. Earlier, the administrator noticed that people in large numbers were throwing garbage waste in the nullahs. He then ordered the installation of grills at 30 different spots on important nullahs in the city to prevent irresponsible citizens from throwing trash in nullahs.

Pandey gave the responsibility of fixing the grills to the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation''s (AMC) garden superintendent Vijay Patil and head of Solid Waste Management (SWM) Nandkishore Bhombe. The work of fixing the grill on nullah near Jaffar Gate is on the verge of completion. Hence the administrator today inspected the ongoing work.

It may be noted that the rankings of AMC had improved in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign). In the hope of getting included amongst the top ten cities of India in the campaign, the civic administration under the leadership of A K Pandey vowed to improve more and more each day and is taking various measures in this regard. The AMC is trying its best to start the processing of garbage at its plants in Padegaon, Harsul and Kanchanwadi up to their full capacities. Later on, Nagarik Mitra Pathak was deployed to fine citizens throwing garbage at public places. The work of installing grills is also the initiative in this regard.

The administrator today inspected the works and gave some instructions. Meanwhile, he also spotted several encroachments around the heritage site - Jaffar Gate - and ordered his subordinates to remove all of them immediately. He also instructed to beautify the periphery of the gate to avoid re-development of encroachments in future.
