Aurangabad, Nov 14:

The entire nation is now facing the problem of air pollution along with the Corona crisis. North India, along with Delhi is facing this dual crisis. However, the atmosphere in Aurangabad is better than Delhi and even if the second Corona wave will hit the district, it will not be severe than Delhi, the experts opined. Still, the residents need to take precautions so that the pollution will not increase in the district, causing lung and respiratory diseases. The oxygen level in the Corona patients reduces and causes breathing problems. The lungs contract due to pollution, and hence there is a possibility of causing diseases like Pneumonia after Coronavirus infection. The residents should not ignore observing social distancing, masks, and sanitizers precautions, the experts mentioned.

The air quality improved during the lockdown period, and the air was clean and clear, as mentioned in the June’s Uban Mission report. However, pollution is increasing after the Unlock. Still, the pollution is much less as compared to the national capital New Delhi.

The second Corona wave is likely to hit the district. The air in Delhi is still in the severe dangerous category and compared to it the situation in Aurangabad is far better. The quality of air depended on the atmosphere, geographical condition, pace of wind and direction and temperature. The cold wind can be favourable for the spread of Coronavirus, said the head of the environment department, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), Dr Satish Patil.
