The Pundliknagar police have arrested two brothers for a series of robberies. The duo snatched at least 12 mobile phones in the past two months and brutally attacked a woman before robbing her gold mangalsutra on Sunday.

The accused has been identified as Krishna alias Kullaya Manik Solanke (26) and Gajanan Manik Solanke (20). A 43-year-old woman in Hanumannagar was working at home when Krishna made obscene remarks outside. As she stepped out, he kicked her in the stomach and snatched her gold mangalsutra before fleeing with his brother. Acting on her complaint, PI Krishna Shinde assigned PSI Arjun Raut and his team to track the accused. On Sunday, the police received intelligence about their whereabouts in Hanuman Nagar and swiftly arrested them.

Parents disown criminal sons

Their parents, frustrated by their criminal lifestyle and drug habits, refused to support them. Even after their arrest, they neither approached the police station nor hired legal representation for them in court. The police recovered 12 mobile phones, the stolen mangalsutra and the motorcycle used in the crimes. Officers Sandeep Beedkar, Deepak Jadhav, Vikram Khandagale, Vijay Lakalwal, Ajay Kamble, and Ankush Wagh executed the operation.
