Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
To spread the message of global peace, inner purification and universal welfare, a grand collective chanting ceremony will be organised in the city on April 9 on the occasion of Vishwa Navkar Diwas. The event is being jointly organised by Sakal Jain Samaj, JITO and Navkar Foundation at Hirakaka Ground from 7 am to 10 am. On this historic day, a resolve to complete 1008 crore recitations of the Navkar Mahamantra will be fulfilled, aiming to set a world record. This was announced during a press conference held on Monday.
The main highlight of the event will be union home minister Amit Shah, who will initiate the programme by chanting the Navkar Mantra. The entire event will be telecast live across the country from 8:01 am to 1:36 pm. Organised on the occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav, this mega spiritual gathering will see participation not only from India but also from 108 countries worldwide.
Over 6,000 organisations and 10 lakh families are expected to participate, along with blessings from 50,000 monks and nuns. Eminent personalities from political, social, sports and cultural fields will also be present.
Planning and special highlights
JITO president Anil Kumar Sancheti, chief secretary Ashish Saklecha, Navkar Foundation’s Ravindra Mugdia and Sakal Jain Samaj president Rajendra Darda appealed to citizens of all communities to participate in this grand spiritual initiative for global welfare.
Special arrangements include a lucky draw with 18 prizes, an exhibition based on the Navkar Mahamantra, and a photo booth for attendees. The chanting programme, which began on March 14, will conclude on April 9. More than 50 organisations, including JITO Ladies Wing, Youth Wing and various Jain groups, are actively involved in organising the event.
