Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Several Injured in Clash Between Two Groups Over Goat Sale in Ambhai Village
Five to six people were seriously injured in a clash that broke out between two groups in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district in Maharashtra on Tuesday night, February 24. The incident took place in Ambhai village, Sillod taluka in dispute over the sale of a goat. The incident, which occurred between 9.30 and 10 pm, quickly escalated when a verbal argument between two individuals drew a crowd of nearly 500 to 600 people.
The mob began pelting stones at each other, damaging 15 to 20 vehicles parked along the roadside and causing significant harm to public property. The dispute, which initially appeared personal, soon took on a political angle, with reports suggesting involvement of local supporters from the BJP and the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction). The confrontation intensified as groups from both sides gathered at the spot.

Five to six people suffered injuries, and two of them are reported to be in critical condition. The injured currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Police arrived promptly and managed to bring the situation under control. Around 15 to 20 people have been detained so far, and searches are underway for other suspects.
A heavy police presence has been deployed in the village. Authorities have appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid spreading or believing in rumours.
