CM to inaugurate devp. works of valuing Rs 2K crore on Saturday
Aurangabad, Dec 11:
The chief minister Uddhav Thackeray will be arriving in the city to grace a grand function organised, to virtually inaugurate the development works of valuing around Rs 2,000 crore, at Garware Stadium tomorrow at 1 pm.
He will be performing ''Bhoomipujan'' of different works including new water supply scheme of Rs 1,680 crore, Safari Park of valuing Rs 147 crore, development of 23 important roads of valuing Rs 152 crore and Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray''s Memorial of valuing Rs 23 crore.
The erratic or inadequate supply of water is a core issue for the citizens since the past 15 years. The then chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had approved the estimate of new water supply scheme of Rs 1,680 crore. It had appointed Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) to execute the works and shortlist the contractor through inviting tender. In the first phase, the MJP shortlisted a contractor to complete civil works of valuing Rs 1,308 crore. The water project will be meeting the water demand of the city till 2052. Hence, the CM will perform ''Bhoomipujan'' of the water project on Saturday. The Urban Development minister Eknath Shinde, guardian minister Subhash Desai, ministers Gulabrao Patil, Sandeepan Bhumre and Abdul Sattar will also remain present. CM will inaugurate three more development works of AMC on occasion.
Thackeray Memorial, Safari Park, Roads
Thackeray Memorial is going to come upon seven hectares of land near MGM Hospital, in Cidco N-6 sector. Fund of Rs 23 crore will be spent upon the task. The guardian minister had okayed the memorial''s design as per his concept. Another project Safari Park will be developed on 84 hectares of land at Mitmita, by spending Rs 147 crore from the Smart City fund. Thackeray will also inaugurate the first phase works of the Safari Park tomorrow. Meanwhile, the government agencies had started the development of 23 roads. Hence the CM will virtually inaugurate them, tomorrow.
