Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Intending to acquire land for the construction of the 3.8 km long Daulatabad bypass, the measurement of land bearing Gut Numbers 11, 12, 37, and 42 in the tehsil’s Abdi Mandi has begun.
Last year, the property ownership (E V Property) for these land guts was revised, which has now put the revenue administration in a difficult position. It has now become clear that the purchase and sale of these lands (for the land acquisition for the bypass) was conducted in a hurried and disorganised manner.
From October 2023 to January 2024, the paperwork for the lands in survey numbers 11, 12, 26, 37, and 42 was completed. However, there is still confusion regarding whether these lands are enemy property, abandoned, or privately owned. This uncertainty remains unresolved.
The revenue administration had placed a signboard on the land, indicating it was enemy property. However, it was later reported that the administration had decided on the land as an evacuee property based on a court order. Meanwhile, the Daily Lokmat conducted an inquiry into the purchase and sale of the land, specifically looking into the individuals who acquired the land after the transaction. For the Daulatabad bypass, around 40% of the land from Abdimandi will likely be acquired.
The road will be constructed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). According to the Land Acquisition Act of 2013, if the land is acquired at four times the market rate, those affected by the acquisition in Abdimandi will receive compensation for the land taken for the road. Currently, transactions for the disputed land in the Gut Numbers have stopped. The original ownership of the land remains unclear.
The land measurement is being urgently conducted in Gut Numbers 11, 12, 13, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 37, and 39 in Abdimandi. The records will be documented in Register 054756. Compensation will be given to those whose names appear on the land records (7/12). If any objections arise regarding the disputed land, the NHAI Land Acquisition section will make the final decision.
Once the measurement work for the Daulatabad bypass is completed, it will be clear which Gut Numbers, the road will pass through. The road will be 3.8 km long and 45 meters wide, said Vijay Raut, the NHAI’s Land Acquisition (Liason) Officer.
