Aurangabad, May 13:

The reopening of schools in the schools would depend on declining patients' strength and en mass vaccination across the State.

It may be noted students from first to the fourth standard have not visited the schools during the last 14 months due to COVID outbreak in the State. A student who was in first standard last was promoted to the second standard. Online education has reached out to nearly 35 per cent. There is a possibility of a third wave of a pandemic virus and the threat to children is said more.

Students who have not attended school are fed up at home. Even parents and teachers feel that schools should be reopened. However, there is no sign of reopening the schools.

It is felt that the future of school depends on vaccination pace. Some teachers think that the decision about schools reopening would be based on declining patients strength and an increase in vaccination.

A total of 88,329 students who were admitted in the first standard were promoted to the second standard directly in the academic year 2020-21.

Education officer Surajprasad Jaiswal said that the new academic year is likely to commence from June 15. “There is a possibility of online classes for the first few days of reopening of the schools. Currently, the schools have summer vacation and there is no discussion over the reopening. It seems that a decline in patients figure and increasing vaccination would take a lot of time. It will be too early to say about the reopening of the schools,” he added.
