CTET begins at 28 centres;90 pc candidates present for exam

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) began on a smooth note at 28 centres in the district on Saturday.

More than 12,000 candidates registered in the district for the eligibility test, which is being held in two sessions. Nearly 90 per cent of the candidates were present in both sessions. A total of 10,222 were present for the first session (Paper II) conducted from 9.30 am to 12 noon, while 1350 aspirants were present.

Similarly, 11,423 aspiring teachers appeared for the second session (Paper-I) from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. There were 1137 candidates who were absent from the test.

CTET coordinator and Principal of Nath Valley School, Dr Swarup Dutta, said that the test was conducted smoothly today. Each paper comprises 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives. Each question carries one mark. There will be no negative marking. The CTET will also be conducted on February 8.
