Delay in decision on conducting HSC exams worrying students, parents & faculty?

Aurangabad, May 24:

The government is yet to decide over conducting the HSC examinations. Various educational boards are also scribbling their minds to find out the option to the board examination. Indeed, the delay in the decision has pushed the bonafide students, parents, and teachers into confusion and worry. Meanwhile, the experts and students expressed that at least the examination of important subjects should be conducted. A total of 63, 215 would be appearing for the HSC exam this year. It

includes 36,977 boys and 26,238 girls.

According to a senior faculty of Milind Science College, Pradeep Kapkar, " The students have started preparing for the examinations. Hence the gap between the papers should be reduced and the exam of core subjects should be conducted. There is tension in the minds of parents as well as students. The government should also take care that there should be no hindrances in admission to various vocational courses. The HSC documents are important for higher education. The exams should be held by adhering to all the standard operating procedures. There should be a flying squad comprising doctors, all should be made mandatory to wear masks, maintain social distance and use sanitisers. Two weeks' time to prepare for exams is enough. The decision should be taken soon as it will help conduct exams and declare the results as early as possible. Besides, it will also not delay in seeking admission to further courses."

What is the alternative to HSC exams?

ZP School headmaster (Ganori) Anil Deshmukh said, " The exams of at least core subjects from

Arts, Science, and Commerce streams should be conducted. This would help students to pursue their further careers. Besides, the exam should be conducted by changing the present traditional pattern. It will be dangerous for the students if the exams are canceled. The decision should be taken soon. CBSE should take an aggressive lead and the guidelines will then be implemented all over the country."

The vice-principal of Deogiri College, Rajnikant Garud said," The examinations of five important subjects of Science stream and four important subjects of Arts and Commerce streams should be conducted. The allotment of marks for optional subjects should be made without taking the examination. If this pattern is adopted then the exams could be finished in 15 days. The cancellation of exams would push the students to face problems in higher education. The early decision will help to declare results soon. There are many students of state board syllabus compared to the CBSE syllabus. Hence it would not be wise to make a decision along with it."

Adds the vice principal of Swami Vivekanand College, Mangal Murambikar, " The HSC exam is important for students in their future. The exams of core subjects should be taken. There is a danger of Covid-19 and all the students are not vaccinated. Hence the time duration of the exam should be reduced. It is not possible to conduct an online exam as the strength of students is huge. The decision should be taken without disturbing the dreams of the students."

Students confusion

Meanwhile, the students Diksha Jadhav, Shakir Deshmukh, and Pratik Pawar explained that the confusion is prevailing each day. We have studied hard and our efforts should not be wasted and at the same time, the next academic session should not be delayed. The exam dates should be announced soon. The offline classes were held for a very short period, therefore, we had taken online education and self-teaching methods. The government should take a concrete decision soon. The HSC documents are needed time and again in the vocational courses. We are worried about admission procedures in the future as well.
