Delhi based-doctors team inspects ventilators in GMCH for 5-hrs

Aurangabad, June 3:

Two senior doctors from Delhi arrived in Government Medical College and Hospital on Thursday and inspected defective ventilators supplied by the Central Government in Covid situation.

The team will visit the hospitals where ventilators were supplied and will submit the report. The inspection will continue for two to three days.

This news published had published the news first time about the 150 defective ventilators supplied in the city.

Associate professor from Anesthesiology Department of Safdarjung Hospital of Delhi Dr Arin Choudhary and Associate professor from the Anesthesiology Department of R ML Hospital, Dr Rupesh Yadav are in the team.

Earlier, GMCH Dr Kanan Yelikar, medical superintendent Dr Suresh Harbade, medical deputy superintendent Dr Vikas Rathod, Dr Sanjay Wakudkar interacted with the team.

Later, the team left to inspect defective ventilators which were kept in Medicine Department. They inspected ventilators for five hours and held talks with Medicine Department head Dr Meenakshi Bhattacharya and Dr Amol Joshi.

Of the total 150 ventilators, some were supplied to private hospitals of the city and other districts also.

The team will also visit the hospitals. They will send the report to Health and Family Welfare Ministry, which will submit it to the court.

According to GMCH sources, the Delhi-based doctors too found the ventilators defective. Security guards were deployed in Medicine Department when the team was inspecting the equipment. The sources further said that earlier, one team conducted the audit of the ventilators. The GMCH administration refused to comment since the ventilators case is sub-judice.
