Aurangabad, April 11:

Considering the rise in covid patients, the administration has demanded 150 ventilators from the state government for the district. By Sunday evening, only 14 of the 262 ventilators were left. The central team has suggested enabling the health system as the patient number has increased in the district.

Ventilators are important for severe corona patients. With the growing number of patients, 100 ventilators for the government medical college and hospital and 50 for the district civil hospital have been requested from the directorate of medical education and research and Haffkine. According to doctors, the purchase process needs to be speeded up against the backdrop of the corona. The incidence of corona is expected to decrease in the district from the end of May. However, the number will continue to increase for a few days. Patients in need of oxygen need to get ventilators as soon as possible. Considering the possibility of a shortage of ventilators, repair work of defunct ventilators in the district is underway. The district hospital earlier had only 8 ventilators. This number was later increased to 25. This number has been further increased to 34.
