Demand to file criminal case against illegal hoarding installers

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Referring to the sudden death of a municipal corporation employee from an electric shock while removing an unauthorised hoarding in the Sanjaynagar–Mukundwadi area (on Saturday morning), a labour union has demanded that criminal charges be filed against those responsible for installing the illegal hoarding.

The union has called upon the municipal administration to register a case of culpable homicide against the individuals who erected the unauthorised structure. It has also demanded that the municipal corporation and the electricity board jointly provide compensation of ₹10 million (one crore rupees) to the deceased worker’s family, and ₹2.5 million (25 lakh rupees) to the injured worker.

Sanjay Ragde, founder president of the Bahujan Kamgar Shakti Mahasangh, along with president and corporator Ashok Hiwarale and Kailas Jadhav, stated that sanitation workers should not be assigned hazardous and high-risk duties by the administration.
