The development works in the district hampered due to the Corona crisis earlier and now due to the model code of conduct implemented due to elections. November and December had gone due to the model code of conduct for the Marathwada graduate constituency election. Now, it has been implemented till January 18, 2021 due to the grampanchyat elections. The administration machinery after being busy due to Corona Crisis is now engaged in the election works. Hence, the development works in the district hampered. The proposed works with the District Planning department, Panchayat Samiti and the Zilla Parishad will not start now due to implementation of the model code of conduct.

During the Corona crisis, the funds of the development works were frozen and were diverted for the measures of tackling Corona. The road, water supply and other new projects were stopped. Now, these works will hamper till the grampanchayat elections till January 18.

District collector, Sunil Chavan said, one month was passed in the graduate constituency elections and now the model code of conduct for the grampanchayat elections due to which the new development works cannot be started. However, the works which has already started will continue, he said.
