Aurangabad, March 11:

Owing to the increased Corona danger, the administration decided to keep the major Shiv Mandirs closed in the city on the occasion of Mahashivratri on Thursday. The devotees had to pay obeisance to the Kalash of the temples from distance.

Every year, a fair is organized at Khadkeshwar Mandir area on Mahashivratri. The doors of the temple were closed for the devotees today. The priests conducted the abhishek, puja and other religious rituals in the temple. Still, the devotees came to the temple for the entire day but they were not allowed to enter.

The temples at Kumbharwada, Ulkanagari, Jyotinagar, Cidco Gulmohar Colony were also closed for the devotees. The similar situation was at the Pardeshwar temple also.

Most of the devotees preferred to remain at home and pay obeisance to Lord Shiva.

Moreover, a severe impact was seen on the sale of the Bell leaves, flower and coconuts.

A turban of 111 metres cloth was prepared for the Shivlinga at Shri Shivkashi Vishwanath Mandir at Apad Bhalgaon. More than half kgs of copper was also used in the turban, informed the Phetewale, Jaisingh Holiye.
