Aurangabad, May 16:
The associate of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Shivram (alias Mama) Ananda Jadhav, who served Dr Ambedkar during his stay here in the city, passed away at his residence at Gaddigudam in Cantonment area on Sunday. He was 92 years old and the last rites were performed on him at Cantonment crematorium. He is survived by two sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.
Jadhav is the native of Gajgaon in Gangapur tehsil and served Dr Ambedkar while he was in the city. Jadhav used clean his room and even gave him body massage. Jadhav’s maternal uncle Kishanrao Kamble alias Dandu Kisan was the activist of Dr Ambedkar. Jadhav got the job to serve Dr Ambedkar on his recommendation. He served him between 1953 to 1956. Later, he joined the Milind College. He used to narrate Dr Ambedkar’s memories with pride. He used to advice all to be educated and should not compromise with self-respect.
